Colombia’s leading evangelical body has called for a national day of fasting and prayer on Friday, urging Christians to seek divine guidance and peace for the country amid renewed diplomatic engagement between Colombia and the United States. The Evangelical Confederation of Colombia, known as CEDECOL, said the prayer initiative comes at a critical moment for the nation, as President Gustavo Petro and U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed a renewed diplomatic dialogue following a lengthy phone conversation earlier this week.
CEDECOL invited churches and believers across Colombia to unite in prayer and fasting, calling on Christians to intercede for national leadership, security challenges and social stability. “We firmly believe that when the people of God humble themselves, pray and seek His face, He responds with direction, mercy and restoration for the nation,” the organization said in a statement.
