Crosstalk America: State of the Church 2021

Posted at Sermon Audio : Details: Since the outbreak of COVID-19, a transformation of the world has taken place. Businesses in America were forced to close their doors as the government determined who was "essential" and who wasn't. Schools were closed, relationships have been challenged, surgeries deemed "nonessential" were prohibited and more. It's not just the secular world that's been impacted. The church has had to adjust as well. Many churches were closed, ministries were forced to shut down and pastoral visits to the sick, lonely and those in need were forbidden. How this has impacted the church and how they've responded was the topic, as Ben Everson joined Jim for this important discussion. Ben is an international evangelist known for his a cappella singing and writing music. He's been traveling in revival ministry for 25 years along with his family. He was one of the first conservative Christian musicians to take advantage of You

Was Jesus a Socialist?

By Kelvey Vander Hart - Posted at Caffeinated Thoughts: I attended a university that holds to a Christian worldview. During one of my classes my professor said one of my least favorite statements: “Jesus was a socialist.” He then pulled out the classic things Jesus has said that are used to back this statement up. Included on the list were things like Christ telling us that it’s harder for the rich to get to heaven than it is for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle and similar verses from the Gospels. My professor and I went back and forth on this throughout the entire semester. Is he right? Was Jesus truly a socialist? Did the Savior of the world hold beliefs similar to that of Karl Marx? My answer is firmly no . To begin, we must have an understanding of what socialism really is. Read more here.

The History and Problem with Marxist Socialism

Karl Marx By Jeff Maples - Posted at Reformation Charlotte: No matter what’s happening around us, Socialism is almost always in the limelight. An idea that grew to prominence in the 19th century, courtesy of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, is presented as a solution for every problem there is in the world—and yet we know through history that it doesn’t work. Before we deconstruct why this ideology and the proposed method of “governance” (or self-governance) doesn’t and wouldn’t work, let’s understand it first. Socialism, Communism, Marxism: What’s the Difference? Often when people think of these terms, they tend to use them interchangeably, or synonymously. Although similar and derived from the same fundamental ideology, there are some differences. Continue reading...

Socialism and Secular Humanism

By Mike Ratliff - Posted at Possessing the Treasure : God saved me right in the middle of the 1980’s. I remember that time very well. After God had mercy on me I was changed radically. When I was in my car I listened to Christian talk radio all the time. I was starving for the truth. During that time I remember how many, if not most, of the commentators I followed were taking issue with the fact that the leadership in not only our churches, but also in our Christian institutions were rejecting something called a “Christian World View” and were replacing it with one centered in “Secular Humanism.” Let’s fast forward to 2016 and the Presidential election. Everyone I knew and all those in the know were 100% confident that Hillary Clinton, an avowed Secular Humanist, would easily defeat Donald Trump and continue the Socialistic reforms that had been taking place in our country since end of Ronald Reagan’s last term in office. Think about that. He was in office for 8 years and even th

Socialism’s Bloody History Shows Millennials Should Think Twice Before Supporting It

Wikipedia By Stella Morabito - Posted at The Federalist : Nikolai Bukharin was executed by shooting in Moscow on March 15, 1938. He had been revered as a giant of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, as one who even worked side by side with Vladimir Lenin himself. Alas, Bukharin’s Marxist chickens had come home to roost by the time he was shot like a dog during Josef Stalin’s reign of terror. His execution marked the pinnacle of Stalin’s show trials of high-level officials. You see, Bukharin invested in building a political system that inevitably puts the reins of power into the hands of just a few strongmen who end up calling all the shots. It’s a system in which suspicion and the smell of treason tend to hang in the air. Socialism, by the way, is just such a system. This is the case whether you call it by any other name, whether communism, utopianism, or collectivism. Oh, go ahead and slap some lipstick on that pig and call it “democratic” socialism or “progressivism” or “comm
