MAGA's Morality Problem

Photo by Gage Skidmore (Source:  MAGA's Morality Problem | Shane Vander Hart )  By Shane Vander Hart When a voting base dismisses the importance of private virtue, we shouldn't be surprised when their leaders lack it. Elected officials having affairs and the like is not new, we've seen Republicans and Democrats caught in scandals. What is new, however, are those being dismissive or defensive of the behavior. Does personal morality and character matter when considering political candidates and elected officials? For me, for me that is an unequivocal yes. The MAGA movement disagreed excusing and elevating a serial adulterer to the White House. We are seeing the fruit of this position today. Continue here.

Conservatives Are Part Of The Problem

By Samuel Sey - Posted at Slow to Write:  Most conservatives support Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay Bill”. However, many of these supposed conservatives apparently support the bill for the wrong reasons. Many conservatives do not care about protecting children from LGBTQ indoctrination, they only care about protecting children from leftist indoctrination. Most “conservatives” today are heading toward the same direction as liberals and leftists—they’re simply progressing at a slower speed. Christless conservatives hate leftism, not sin. We Christians shouldn’t forget that. They are generally our political allies, but they are not our philosophical allies. Jesus said: “Whoever is not with me is against me.” ( Matthew 12:30 ) That applies to conservatives too. Leftists aren’t the only people who are against Jesus. I don’t think there is a single silver bullet answer to that. I believe drawing from a consensus of thought can develop some guardrails to what defines conservative thought. Conservatism, first and foremost, is about principles, not personalities, and not even politics. It’s a lens with which we view society. Conservatism is not about Ronald Reagan, and it is not about Donald Trump. If we sacrifice principles for politics or a personality, we are no longer operating from a conservative worldview. HOW TO TEST A WHITE CONSERVATIVE TO SEE IF THEY ARE RACIST

Let’s take a look at the left’s accusations of racism - Wintery Knight Posted at Wintery Knight: I’ve noticed that a lot of people on the left like to cry “racism” whenever anyone disagrees with them about any of their policies. If a conservative opposes Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, banning all guns, infanticide or gay marriage, the response from the left is always to cry “racism”. As if there is no content at all to the conservative worldview. Let’s take a look at this. Here is a Daily Signal column by famous Jewish conservative Dennis Prager: So here is a way to show it is a lie. Ask any white conservative, including one who supports Trump, the following three questions: 1). Do you have more in common with, and are you personally more comfortable in the company of, a white leftist or a black conservative? 2). Would you rather have nine white leftists or nine black conservatives on the U.S. Supreme Court? 3). Would you rather your child marry a black Chr
