Back To Ukraine: Saving Lives Saving Souls

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”- Matthew 22: 39
On May 28, 2025 a dedicated team led by Jim and Heather Idoni is joining with other missionaries and evangelical Christian church outreaches in Ukraine to accomplish two goals: first, to provide medical supplies to the front-line military of the war to help save lives, and second, to spread the hope and Good News of the Gospel to those who need it or have never heard it!

The Idoni family are no strangers to Ukraine. After having 5 sons and suffering the loss of their youngest child, a daughter in 2008, they were led by the Holy Spirit to adopt 10 Ukrainian sons who were orphans (2 or 3 at a time!) from Ukraine from 2014-2019. Their deep love for the Ukrainian people and unwavering dedication stem from their first-hand experiences with the immense needs of these people, our neighbors oversees who have been under fire since invasions began in 2014.

This trip marks the 15th mission being prepared by Jim and Heather and their extended circle of friends, who have received a commendation and letter of thanks from the Ukrainian military for their efforts. This recognition highlights their work of delivering lifesaving trauma kits to frontline areas. Odessa, Ukraine’s third most populous city and the main base for the mission has been repeatedly targeted by missiles and drone strikes, most recently in March/April 2025. The picture is that of Odessa on fire after a drone attack mere hours after a declared ceasefire.

How can you help?

The need for Trauma Kits is incredibly URGENT! Our goal is to bring in 200 trauma kits (with everything to stop bleeding emergencies in the field), 300 supplemental tourniquets to be worn by soldiers on a belt clip for rapid deployment, and this time we also will bring in burn kits and additional supplies needed to treat burns immediately, especially for civilian casualties in various cities being targeted for attacks. Additionally, we hope to donate a number of portable gurneys to move the injured out of harm’s way. Specifically, Foxtrot Litters have been a constant need and request of the frontline medics we work with.
