Burk Parsons resigned from the Presbyterian Church in America on Monday, days after its highest court upheld findings that he was harsh and domineering.

Burk Parsons is done with the Presbyterian Church in America.The Ligonier Ministries editor and pastor of St. Andrew’s Chapel, a Central Florida church founded by theologian R. C. Sproul, resigned from the denomination Monday after the top ecclesial court upheld charges against him.
In a one-page letter, Parsons noted St. Andrew’s withdrew from the denomination in December, and regional rules do not allow Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) ministers to serve in independent congregations. He asked the Central Florida Presbytery “that my name be removed from the roll.”
“I write with sincere love for my faithful brothers within the Presbytery,” Parsons wrote. “I will continue to pray that the Holy Spirit would use us — sinners saved by grace — to serve Him, His people, and the lost throughout Central Florida and the world.”
St. Andrew’s other teaching elders — Stephen Adams, Don Bailey and Kevin Struky — have also withdrawn from the PCA.
