Nothing to see here: New York church’s investigation sails through with flying colors

We have a major issue in the Christian world when churches, and not their denominations or outside bodies, are left to manage their own investigations when things go sour.

By this I am referring to Fount NYC, the Brooklyn-based church run by Australian pastors, Josh and Georgie Kelsey.

As My Christian Daily previously reported, Josh Kelsey and his wife, Georgie, left the shores of Australia to start a church in New York, formerly under the banner of C3. Now named Fount Church, the Kelseys have come under fire from current and former members after allegations of excessive spending on their American Express credit card.

It is also alleged that they sold their home in New Jersey and moved back to Australia in October, 2025 without telling the church. They are also reportedly running the church from Australia, having moved home to be closer to sick family members.

The Kelseys are being accused of spending nearly $1.4 million on their American Express church credit cards without proper documentation or board approval. Accounting firm Capin Crouse Advisers reviewed a nine-year period of spending and its letter reveals it found more than $900,000 in what seem to be personal expenses.

In October, 2025 The Roys Report first reported that the pastors are having to explain excessive overspending, which has been confirmed in a letter to the church’s finance manager by Capin Crouse.

Now, after undertaking a third party investigation, the church has amazingly cleared the pastors of any financial wrongdoing. That is after the following was revealed last October: ...
