UNDERSTANDING TRUMP’S POLITICAL SUCCESS

What is the source of the Trump phenomenon? What combination of forces have created this seemingly perfect political storm?

There are a number of theories. And some of them are quite reasonable. But I think it is not any one thing that has contributed to his success.

I think five factors in particular have coalesced in God’s providence to bring the Republican party to Trump: political, national, economical, cultural and religious factors.

1. The political dimension everyone gets. The Establishment (in both parties) are more despised than ever. Republicans-in-name-only (RINOs) have been playing patty-cake with liberals for many years.

And the establishment has been offering subpar presidential candidates. The establishment needlessly compromised over and over again with Obama. Although there has been a long-running anti-establishment contingency in the party, seven years of Obama has brought it to a fever pitch.
