Expose Sex Ed Now: Making Proud Choices! “I was appalled…”

Recently, I became aware that Charleston County School District is considering offering a sex education course called Making Proud Choices (MPC) in the schools. I am concerned about this because 2 of my 3 girls are in a public middle school, and because I work with youth in “high risk” neighborhoods.

My first contact with MPC was as a pastor. A lady from our church wanted to recruit youth to attend a YWCA MPC seminar at which they would be given $50 gift certificates. After researching and reading some excerpts from the curriculum, I was appalled and I requested that she not recruit from the church youth.
