Illinois School District Refuses to Allow Boy in Girls’ Locker Room, Defying Obama Administration

By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network:

CHICAGO — A school district in the Chicago area is remaining steadfast in its refusal to allow a male student who identifies as female to change in the girls’ locker room despite an opinion from the U.S. Department of Education that the district is violating federal law.

According to reports, an unidentified high school student within Township High School District 211 requested to use the girls’ locker room nearly two years ago since the student asserts that they identify as female.

But the district declined, citing the privacy concerns of the other students. It in turn offered the student a private location to change, but the student rejected the accommodation. He then contacted the American Civil Liberties Union, which in turn filed a federal complaint with the Office of Civil Rights of the U.S. Department of Education.

Abortion and Child Sacrifice

By Ken Ham - Posted at Answers in Genesis:

If people today were found sacrificing children, as the Canaanites and others did in the Old Testament, I’m sure the public and its elected officials like President Obama would be aghast. Such people would be prosecuted for brutality and murder.

It is my contention that in essence abortion is another form of child sacrifice! But because killing children in the womb has been legalized in the US, President Obama and many other pro-abortionists condone this brutality and murder!

Many times in Scripture, God’s people are warned not to be like the pagan peoples of other nations who sacrificed their own children. As we read of this abomination in Scripture, the so-called “civilized West” would claim that such vile behavior as child sacrifice should not be tolerated.

But they do!

As someone who has participated in the occult, my answer to whether Christians should celebrate Halloween is that if Christians saw the real faces of Halloween, they would be horrified. Witchcraft is as the sin of rebellion (1 Samuel 15:23) and the decorations of gore and evil should not be associated with light and purity (2 Corinthians 6:14). Whatever my viewpoints are, I know many Christians exercise ‘Christian liberty’ with this holiday, so I’ll let this controversy brew without me (for this year anyway :-)).

Horror movies exploit fear to create more fear. But, fear of what? The evil characters can only destroy the body. The bigger horror is the evil characters in the pulpit that lead many to eternal damnation. Millions of people are deceived by the disguises donned by false teachers because these teachers are not outfitted in obvious, evil costumes. They are dressed to con and deceive. Moreove…

Human Rights Advocate: Change From One- to Two-Child Policy Won’t End Forced Abortions in China

By Penny Starr - Posted at CNS News:

( – The Xinhua News Agency announced on Thursday that the Chinese Communist government is halting its one-child policy and replacing it with a policy that will allow couples to obtain permits to have two children. But human rights activist Reggie Littlejohn said the change would not stop forced abortions in the Communist country.

“This comes as no surprise, given the demographic disaster China now faces as a result of its One Child Policy,” Littlejohn said in a statement on Thursday.

“However, instituting a two-child policy will not end forced abortion, gendercide or family planning regulations in China,” said Littlejohn, founder and president of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, an international coalition to expose and oppose forced abortion, gendercide and sexual slavery in China.

Education: Nine Corrupt Pillars of Classical Greece

By Dr. Gary North

Maybe you are a Christian parent looking for a curriculum for your child. You are considering a school that costs $5,000 a year. It offers what it calls a classical Christian curriculum.

Save your money. There is no such thing as a classical Christian curriculum. There never has been.

There is a fake hybrid of two rival systems of thought, politics, and culture. They are at war with each other. It is sold to gullible Christian parents by poorly educated school masters who either do not understand classical Greece or who are deliberately deceiving parents.

The Greece of classical Christian education is a whitewashed Greece. It never existed.

Let us say that I come to you with an offer. I tell you that I have a curriculum based on the ideals of classical Greece, meaning Athens. This is what "classical Greece" has always meant in the West: Athens.

You say you are interested, but first you want to know more about the worldview of classical Greece. What did they …

The Fire That Fueled the Reformation

By Nathan Busenitz - Posted at The Master's Seminary:

“Is not My word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock?
(Jer. 23:29)

What caused the Reformation?

Many people might answer that question by pointing to Martin Luther and his 95 Theses.

But if you were to ask Luther himself, he would not point to himself or his own writings. Instead, he would give all the credit to God and His Word.

Near the end of his life, Luther declared: “All I have done is put forth, preach and write the Word of God, and apart from this I have done nothing. . . . It is the Word that has done great things. . . . I have done nothing; the Word has done and achieved everything.”

Elsewhere, he exclaimed: “By the Word the earth has been subdued; by the Word the Church has been saved; and by the Word also it shall be reestablished.”

Noting Scripture’s foundational place in his own heart, Luther wrote: “No matter what happens, you should say: There is God’s Word. This is my rock and …

9 Things Planned Parenthood Accomplished in 99 Years

By Marissa Poulson - Posted at ADF Blog:

On October 16, Planned Parenthood officially turned 99 years old. So what does 99 years in business look like for the abortion giant?

A short list of Planned Parenthood's "accomplishments" over the past 99 years include:

1. Ended the lives of over 7 million children in the womb
This outrageous number doesn't even include lives taken by Planned Parenthood before Roe v. Wade.2. Got caught on video negotiating prices for baby parts
A series of undercover videos by The Center for Medical Progress shows Planned Parenthood officials haggling over the price of baby parts, advertising the freshness of the baby parts they collect and sell, and discussing altering abortion methods to obtain intact body parts.3. Failed to report the sexual abuse of young girls brought to its clinics
Planned Parenthood has an extensive history of ignoring child sexual abuse and enabling their predators. A recently released report presents a pattern of documente…

Dennis Hastert pleads guilty to federal charge

By Jason Meisner and Jeff Coen - Posted at The Chicago Tribune:
Former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert pleaded guilty Wednesday to evading currency-reporting requirements, but no further details came out about the underlying wrongdoing that led him to withdraw nearly $1 million in cash from four banks over 2 ½ years.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Durkin set sentencing for Feb. 29. Hastert, 73, faces probation or up to six months in prison.

Diagnosing Dissenters: IS HOMOPHOBIA A DISORDER?

By Eric Metaxas - Posted at BreakPoint:

If you think homosexual behavior is wrong, new research says you might not be right in the head.

This summer, the Supreme Court narrowly redefined marriage and handed the gay-rights movement a major victory: full “equality” and recognition by the government. With that box checked, the gay-rights movement can now focus on its ultimate goal: silencing those who disagree.

One new and troubling strategy has emerged from the scientific community. Instead of vilifying those who believe in natural marriage, suggest some researchers, we should diagnose them.

It’s an ironic reversal. Years ago, homosexuality was listed in the American Psychiatric Association’s manual of disorders. But in 1986 it was removed, followed by a concerted push from Association members to normalize homosexual behavior.

October 31 and Government

By Pastor Shawn Mathis

“He that will not honor the memory, and respect the influence of Calvin, knows but little of the origin of American liberty.”
America’s first great historian, George Bancroft (founder of Annapolis), although not a Calvinist himself, was honest in his evaluation of history:
The fanatic for Calvinism was a fanatic for liberty; and, in the moral war fare for freedom, his creed was his most faithful counselor and his never-failing support. The Puritans… planted… the undying principles of democratic liberty.[1] [He further claimed]:…Calvin infused enduring elements into the institutions of Geneva, and made it for the modern world, the impregnable fortress of popular liberty, the fertile seed-plot of democracy. We boast of our common schools; Calvin was the father of popular education, the inventor of the system of free schools. We are proud of the free States that fringe the Atlantic. The pilgrims of Plymouth were Calvinists; the best influence in South Carolina came …

Abused Christian Wives, It Is Not Your Fault and You Don’t Deserve It.

Posted at One Christian Dad:
(HT Tamar weeps)

Abuse is not something we like to talk about. It doesn’t make us feel good. It is something that sometimes we would rather just pretend does not happen. But sometimes we need to look at the ugliness of it, in order to do something about it.

October 19-23, 2015 is Domestic Violence Awareness Week.

So we should look at it.

It is a huge topic, covering many things, but for the purpose of this article, I will focus on domestic abuse in the Church, particularly that perpetrated by men against their wives.

In the setting of the Church, allegations of abuse can sadly be dismissed as an overly sensitive wife, or as coming from a wife who simply refuses to submit to her husband’s headship. Or perhaps we think that the wife must have done something to set him off. Or maybe we do care, but we just give thoughtless pat answers, and we prescribe Ephesians 5 and say, “You should submit…” If you dispense such advice to the abused, be careful, you may be wel…

Crime of the Unborn

By Katherine Marple - Posted at KeepLifeLegal:

Unborn children are treated like criminals, wanted for the crime of being UNPLANNED. They are hunted down, singled out, and targeted for capital punishment...the death penalty. Are they simply the blob of flesh that anti-lifers swear they are? Certainly, it would seem to me that if 'it' were just a 'blob', then killing 'it' would NOT be necessary.

CERTAINLY if these little blobs were 'blobs', then they would not be harvested for 'parts'. That's sort of like having a living parts car at your disposal [car people know what I mean ;)]. Resurrect the old, banish the new.

Even so, people kill because they can. Today I saw a dad eating his breakfast while his pre-abortive wife/girlfriend drove into the lot. I mean, after all...breakfast is THE most important meal of the day. But so it goes, every day different than the other, except for the murdering their unborn children part.

California’s End of Life Option Act

By Michael W. Salemink - Lutherans for Life:

We grieve with the citizens of the State of California. On October 5, Governor Jerry Brown signed into law ABX2-15, the End of Life Option Act. This legislation authorizes an adult “determined by his or her attending physician to be suffering from a terminal disease” to have poison prescribed “for the purpose of ending his or her life.” Along with Oregon, Washington, Vermont, and Montana, California is now the fifth state that allows physician-assisted suicide.

We fear the chilling effect this will have on the culture surrounding those who are ailing or aging among us and on the care provided to them. The Netherlands and Belgium, which have permitted assisted suicide for decades, are witnessing continuing expansion of the practice and increased deaths from it. Recent research there demonstrates that this act that was initially limited to situations of terminal illness has been gradually widened so that it now includes any “unbearable sufferin…

The Tragedy of Shaming

By Natalie Rose Greenfield - Posted at My Naptime Journal:

I've told my story broadly for years and little by little I've delved deeper into certain aspects of it. The long term abuse I suffered as a young teen has many layers and to address them all in detail would take up an entire novel, so I'll do it slowly and as seems fitting and needed in this grander scheme of raising awareness for these issues and helping others develop a greater understanding of a complicated and destructive problem in our society at large and especially within our churches.

My story does not stand alone. It is far from an anomaly. You've probably seen the statistics. We have a responsibility as a culture to know what to do when someone tells us they have been abused, and our words and actions in response to a victim of abuse has the power of great healing or great destruction. Speaking out about something as intimate and uncomfortable as sexual abuse takes so much strength and it places the …

Sex offenders in the pews: Let’s not be deceived

It’s a cold February day and I’m standing on stage eyeing up my audience. It’s a seminar at a church on child sexual abuse and I’ve now shifted to speaking about prevention. I don’t want to lecture them about “red flag” behavior. I want them to experience deception. My colleague, a therapist who has logged over 9,000 hours counseling over 3,000 sex offenders in various prisons, has convinced me that we need to role play. He will play the firm church leader and I will play the pedophile. Days before, he assures me that he’s never seen anyone so naturally “get into role” as me. “It’s frightening! You’re too much,” he says. Our aim is to demonstrate to our unsuspecting audience how easily sex offenders cunningly win over the hearts of every person and gain access to children. It’s a scenario we both know too well. It will be, in his opinion, the most compelling and practical part of the entire weekend seminar. He was rig…

Elias Boudinot: Building America on Christ

Semper Reformanda: Christ Will Do Everything, or He Will Do Nothing

Because of that, there will likely be many posts in the Christian blogosphere celebrating the recovery of the biblical Gospel from the perversions of Roman Catholic theology. And because of that, there will likely be many Romanist sympathizers who chide us Protestants as divisive, overly-narrow, unity-destroying, and judgmental. They’ll say something like this (a comment we’ve received before at The Cripplegate):

This is what drives me nutty about Christianity. We all believe in the Bible, Jesus Christ, the road to salvation and the Resurrection. Do I believe exactly as you do? The Biblical Gospel is About Who God Is and What He Does

By David P. Smith - Posted at the Confessional ARP:

I have been saying for several years now that one of the best ways to understand the general character of American culture is that it is a way of life that reveals that humans must do what God has already done, is doing and will do. So, when pastors and teachers in the church stress the Christian’s Crazy Love for God instead of God’s love for his creation and people, or stress the Christian’s Radical commitment to and accomplishments for God, instead of God’s radical commitment to and accomplishments for his creation and people, they simply demonstrate that they not only do not understand very well the gospel revealed in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament, but also are dressing up in biblical language what is already in American culture. And people wonder how Old Covenant Israel could end-up engaging in Baal worship, while also carrying-out the Temple sacrifices.

Smothering Religious Freedom: The Worldwide Assault of Tyranny

A year before America entered World War II, President Franklin Roosevelt shared his vision of “a world founded upon four essential human freedoms”: freedom of speech, freedom from fear, freedom from want, and “freedom of every person to worship God in his own way — everywhere in the world.” FDR asserted these Four Freedoms in the context of a speech about “the democratic way of life … being directly assailed in every part of the world” by a “new order of tyranny.”

Today, it seems the civilized world is under assault from a disorder of tyranny and terror. The enemies of religious freedom abound. October 31: the birthday of the Reformation

By Pastor Shawn Mathis:

On October 31, 1517, the eve of All Saints’ Day, an Augustinian monk, hammered 95 theses—short propositions—on the Wittenberg door in Germany. He was protesting the indulgences of Tetzel, who purportedly announced: “As soon as the coin in the coffer rings, the soul from purgatory springs.” This system of indulgences was part of the larger system of baptism and penance and the Mass. Each a step in the works-salvation method of Rome. If a shrewd Christian could find the right confessor and some money, he could cover most sins while living like the Devil. In fact, even civil punishment could be avoided this way.

Hammering the theses was a public declaration. An advertisement of sorts. But it was more. It was a formal declaration against the Papal and Romish supremacy in matters of faith and life. The various theses fundamentally attacked the Romian church’s authority over the matter of salvation. It dismantled the churchly machine of Sacerdotalism—that mechanical v…

Why We Do Not Do Halloween

By Rev. Benjamin P. Glaser - Posted at Mountains and Magnolias:

As the chief grumpy pants of 506 East Ivy Street I am often asked (and then eye-rolled) why my wife and I no longer allow our kids to participate in the American holiday of Halloween. In this post I want, in good Presbyterian fashion, to give a biblical and confessional defense for this decision which runs against the grain of 98% of our nation’s culture and as I already noted leaves many folks kind of shaking their heads in the usual “you silly fundy taking all the fun out of life” ways. So while this post is a bit self-depricating in recognizing how out of kilter my family and I are with the world, it is just another way out of several practices that this is the case.

And on that point I do want to make a comment about the “counter-cultural” nature of this position. There is a segment of my side of the Reformed world that is in constant need to “out Reform” others and this leads to a desire to take on more and more uniq…

The Way of the Heathen: A Brief History of Halloween
