Reaping the Fruit of Feminism

By Angela Wittman

A sower went forth to sow
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that he will also reap.
Gal. 6:7
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Ephesians 5:22,23
Dear Friends,

This article is written mostly for my sisters in Christ who are struggling with the fruit of feminism. What is the fruit of feminism?

  • Discontentment
  • Broken marriages
  • Depression
  • The murder of preborn babies by abortion
  • Couples living together without marriage
  • Fornication and adultery
  • Homosexuality
  • Suicide
  • Neglected and abused children
  • Unemployment and loss of jobs for men

I firmly believe that we can trace these ills of society to feminism. Feminism is a radical transformation of our culture. Traditional families are to be destroyed, and as a result lives are lost through disease, suicide and abortion. Do you think I may be exaggerating a bit?

Here are some excerpts from the National Organization for Women:
"We are committed to a feminist ideology and reaffirm our historic commitment to gaining equality for women, assuring, safe, legal and accessible abortion and full reproductive freedom, combating racism, stopping violence against women, ending bigotry and discrimination based on sexual orientation and color, ethnicity, national origin, economic status, age, disability, size, childbearing capacity or choices, or parental or marital status." (NOW 1998 Declaration of Sentiments
"We are committed to seeing that full marriage and social equality are a reality for same-sex couples," said NOW President Kim Gandy. "We are asking our allies not to cave to pressure created by the radical right. We will not compromise our values. We will not allow discrimination to be written into the Constitution."(NOW Remains Dedicated to the Right to Marry for Same-Sex Couples)

In contrast, there is nothing more satisfying for a woman of God, than doing as He commands. Obedience to our husbands, while living moral lives brings peace and happiness to our homes. Obedience is not a "bad" word, nor is submission. When you obey the LORD and submit to His commands, you will find rest for your soul as you will reap a quiet heart. Part of obedience to the LORD is submission to the man God has placed in your life to lead you -- your husband.

I recently came across an article written by R.C. Sproul, which beautifully expresses how we should look at submission to our husbands from a Biblical viewpoint:
"Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord (verse 22). This is a service and an act of worship that the woman gives to the Lord himself. It is the Lord’s will that the wife be submissive to her husband, and if she wants to honor Christ, then one of the concrete ways she does this is by being in submission to her husband. If a woman is contentious and refuses to follow the leadership of her husband, she is in rebellion, not simply against him, but also against Christ.

"Let me make a qualification here. Whenever we are called to obey anyone, be it a civil magistrate, a domestic leader or our church rulers, we are told in the whole context of Scripture that we must ultimately be submissive to God. So if there is ever a conflict between the law of God and the rule of a human being, not only may you disobey, you must disobey the human command.

"There is a teaching which has gone widely through evangelical Christianity which says that for a woman to be obedient to this passage, she must obey her husband no matter what he tells her to do. This is not true. For example, if her husband tells her to live a life of prostitution, she is to show her obedience to Christ by disobeying her husband’s wicked commands. That woman must disobey her husband, because her husband is commanding her to do something that God forbids. Similarly, if the husband forbids her to do something that God commands, she must disobey her husband. " (Taken from Christian Submission Ephesians 5: 21 - 33, by R.C. Sproul,

Please compare the above quoted wisdom from Dr. Sproul with a quote I found on the website Quotations About Feminism:
"The foolish and cruel notion that a wife is to obey her husband has sent more women to the grave than to the courts for a divorce." ~Lemuel K. Washburn, Is The Bible Worth Reading And Other Essays, 1911

A rebellious attitude like that expressed above will only lead to rebellion, and the destruction of our society.

My prayer for Christian women is that they not fall for the propaganda coming out of the feminist movement. I remember as a young woman feeling awkward and intimidated, as I did not have any desire for a career. My heart's desire was to be a wife and mother. I praise the LORD that I was able to stay home, raise my sons, bake cookies, help with their schoolwork and keep a clean house.

Last November, my husband brought to my attention that I had been slipping into a feminist state of mind. He reminded me of when I first became a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I had tacked a note to our kitchen bulletin board which read:

Angie's Priorities:

#1. God
#2. Husband
#3. Children
#4. Church
#5. Ministry

His complaint was that I had begun to place him at the bottom of the list, and he was right. My plea to Christian women is for you to keep your priorities in proper order; to love the LORD with all your hearts, respect your husbands, love your children and be content with what God has given you. Don't buy into the lie of feminism, as our society is presently reaping it's fruit. Submit yourselves to God's clear teaching on your role as a Christian woman, and you will see righteousness taking root in your family which will then produce fruits of happiness and joy. Amen.

  1. You're welcome! I pray you found it to be an encouragement. :)

  2. We sowed the wind years ago with the feminist movement and now we're reaping the whirlwind as shown by the dissolution of our society.

  3. You mentioned Esther in the context of your 'beauty,' post, comments are closed there, but still relevant to this post.

She was such an example, and still is, as to what in my mind a beautiful woman is: feminine, strong, modest, careful, demure, hard working, passionate, eloquent, faithful, sober, and one who respects authority (well most of the time)

Let's not forget her love for her uncle Mordecai, whose influence on her cannot be stated enough. She was worthy of Queen.

Esther reaped the fruit alright, not of feminism, but of a godly woman.

  4. Thank you! Yes, Queen Esther is/was truly a beautiful woman inside and out, as we are told in Scripture. She is a wonderful role model for all women to emulate. Thanks for stopping by and reading my posts. I am blessed by your interest. :)

  5. You are welcome Angela.

We need each other, as iron sharpeneth iron. 'Good' women don't usually get press time, but that is God's way right? There is no competition at the bottom, people generally want the higher place.

But by Hadassah's place of lowliness, she was exalted. Oh how God is faithful. Bless you friend.

  6. I couldn't agree with you more! I too have been blogging about the evil and unhappiness foolish young women deliberately subject themselves to when allowing themselves to be brainwashed by radical feminist ideology. When they substitute rad

How abandoning Sola Scriptura shipwrecks your faith

What is the difference between the spiritual transformation that happens through the Holy Spirit, and the Spiritual Formation movement that swept through our churches a few years ago?

The difference is night and day. I remember talking about this with the late Ken Silva in 2012. He helped me understand that the Spiritual Formation movement provided the platform and a channel through which mystical practices began entering many different evangelical and traditional denominations.

Unfortunately, this type of experience has moved many believers into an unbiblical, mystical form of Christianity. It’s based on the premise that if we do certain meditative practices and ancient rituals, we can be more like Jesus and find God within ourselves.

Ontario, Canada: 'Judge Rules in Favor of Christian Couple Who Lost Foster Children for Refusing to Lie About Easter Bunny'

By Heather Clark - Posted at Christian News Network:

ONTARIO — A Superior Court judge in Canada has ruled in favor of a Christian couple who lost their foster children, and were prevented from caring for other children, after refusing to lie by claiming that the Easter Bunny was delivering candy to their home.

Derek and Frances Baars are Reformed Presbyterians and began fostering two girls, ages three and five, in December 2015. However, shortly after the girls were placed in their home, concerns were raised by the Children’s Aid Society that the couple was not going to play Santa Claus and Easter Bunny with the children.

The Baars, who according to legal documents, do not celebrate Christmas or Easter at all, said that they were willing to buy the girls gifts and give them candy if the biological parents expected them to do so, but would not tell the children that the goodies were from Santa or the Easter Bunny.

Notes had been written in the home study in regard to the couple’s religiou…

Look no further than Regulation 225, a proposed amendment to the Delaware school code, which, if passed, will allow students of any age to “self-identify” their “gender or race” at school without their parents’ knowledge if students say their parents would not be “supportive.” Don’t believe me? Read it yourself in Section 7.4 and Sec. 7.4.1:

All students enrolled in a Delaware public school may self-identify gender or race…. A school may request permission from the parent or legal guardian of a minor student before a self-identified gender or race is accepted; provided, however, that prior to requesting the permission from a parent or legal guardian, the school should consult and work closely with the student to assess the degree to which, if any, the parent or legal guardia…

Judgement: The Doctrine Lost to the Modern Pulpit

By Howard Davies - Posted at The Banner of Truth:

In John Bunyan’s book The Pilgrim’s Progress, the story begins with Christian discovering news which causes him great alarm. Clothed in rags and with a burden upon his back, he is distressed to learn from a book he has been reading that the city he lives in is soon to be destroyed by fire from heaven. He tells his wife and children of their terrible danger. They must immediately try to escape.

But the response of his family is to think he has gone mad! As night is coming on they hasten to put him to bed in the hope that he might recover his senses by morning. However, the next day find him even more troubled. He wanders alone in the fields, sighing and reading from the book in his hands. Occasionally he is heard to cry out: ‘What must I do to be saved?’

In days of great spiritual darkness those called by God to preach the gospel have a sobering task. Our present world is still as Bunyan saw it. It is the City of Destruction. Mankind li…
